Our history

In a corner of Greece where nature speaks with its aromas and colours, our love for bees was born. Our story began several years ago, when Christos Giannakis, my father, took his first steps in beekeeping. Guided by his love for nature and respect for the world of bees, he laid the foundation for our business.

His dedication and knowledge were passed on to me, inspiring me to develop the art of nomadic beekeeping. Our hives travel to the most fertile areas of Evia, collecting the nectar of its rich biodiversity.

What sets us apart is our commitment to quality and harmonious cooperation with nature. Our honey is called “Afesmos”, inspired by the primordial process of bee multiplication, which is the beginning of every new hive. Every drop of “Aphesmos” contains the wisdom of nature, our own devotion and the miracle of the bee.

Vasilika is a picturesque village in the northeastern part of Evia, built at an altitude of 85 meters. It is 90 km away. from Chalkida and 32 km. from Istria, while its population is 424 inhabitants (2011 census).

The name of the village probably dates back to the years of the Persian Wars. It is said that, during the naval battle of Artemis, the Persian royal ships anchored in the bay of Vasiliki, while the Greek ships were found in the bay of the neighbouring village, now called Hellenic.

The port of the village, Psaropouli, stands out as a reference point for the area, with its unique beach, which combines natural beauty and impressive views of the Aegean Sea.

With absolute respect to nature, we apply sustainable beekeeping methods that promote the well-being of our bees, while ensuring the balance of the ecosystem that surrounds them.

The health of our bees is our top priority, ensuring that they live in a clean, nutrient-rich environment. The non-intrusive methods we adopt allow us to protect the natural balance of the ecosystem while enhancing the quality of our products. The honey, royal jelly and pollen we produce are the result of this balance – pure, nutritious and perfectly connected to nature.
